Practice Makes Perfect

"Definitely practice a couple of arrangements beforehand. It helped us build confidence as well as get excited for the real thing."
- Ana & Taylor
One of the most common pieces of advice is to practice. Before your big day, try making a few flower arrangements. It doesn’t have to be fancy—just grab some flowers from your local store and start arranging. Practicing will help you get a feel for the process, and you might even discover new ideas for your wedding.
More Buckets, Less Stress
"Get more buckets than you think you need!!!! I had to run back out to get more [hydration] buckets and it just made me stress more than I should have." - Sadie & Trey
When it comes to storing your flowers, you can never have too many buckets. The last thing you want is to run out of space and have to scramble for more on your wedding day. So, stock up on buckets ahead of time. It’s one less thing to worry about.

Organize Like a Pro
"Laundry baskets were great for transportation. Especially with our large order, taking the time to organize all of the recipes before your helpers get there helped things go so much more smoothly." - Ana & Taylor
Being organized can make a huge difference. Whether it's using laundry baskets to transport flowers or organizing your arrangements by recipe, staying organized will save you time and stress. Before your helpers arrive, have everything laid out and labeled so they know exactly what to do!
Tip: Save the boxes your flowers arrive in for easy transport!

"STAY ORGANIZED. Make checklists, spreadsheets, whatever you can to make sure you’re not forgetting anything. An assortment of rainbow-colored masking tape can be your best friend." - Kevin and Alex
Staying organized is key when you’re doing your own wedding flowers. Use checklists and spreadsheets to keep track of everything. Color-coded masking tape is also a great tool—assign a color to each area of your wedding (ceremony, reception, etc.) and label everything accordingly. This will make setup a breeze.
"Watch lots of videos and follow lots of florists on Instagram. It helped me get a sense of color, scale, and what I liked."
Watching videos and following florists online can give you inspiration and help you develop your style. Take the time to learn from others, and don't be afraid to try new things. Practice with grocery store flowers to build your confidence before you dive into the real thing.
