Season: Limited availability. Pampas is fresh in the Fall and then dried the rest of the year. Due to increased popularity, it can be difficult to source and inconsistent in size.
Color: Beige to golden brown
Description: Wispy plumes can come either fresh or dried. The fresh variety can have green stalks, but the plumes will be beige to gold in color.
Please note the variety of the photos we have to represent pampas. During the Fall, pampas is fresh and full. The other times it is dried and more sparse. For that reason, we cannot guarantee "fluffiness" or stalk length. It is our aim to be completely transparent about the nature and demand of Pampas Grass.
Flower Care:Keep the plums from getting wet to avoid any unsightly clumping. Can be dried if desired. Use hairspray to reduce shedding. They are very hardy!
The Good: Texture, texture, texture! Plumes add a strong visual impact while keeping the overall design light and airy. Dries beautifully if you'd like to preserve it.
The Bad: Limited availability. Fresh is seen in the Fall and the dried variety is seen the rest of the year. Pampas Grass can shed a lot but you can reduce this by spraying with Petal Proofer or a cheap aerosol hairspray.
Pampas Grass is considered an accent flower since a little goes a long way. Based on our design suggestions and this products specific bunch size, here's our quantity recommendation:
- Bridal Bouquet: 1-3 stems
- Bridesmaids:1-2 stems
- Boutonnieres: Few plumes
- Corsages: Few plumes
- Centerpieces: 1-2 stems
- Large Arrangements: 2-4 stems, depending on the impact you're going for
Flower Moxie reserves the right to make changes or substitutions. All substitutions are only done as a last resort, and only when the reasons for doing so are reasonable and genuine. For example, if a flower becomes unavailable (off crop), incorrect color, or not in good condition to grace a wedding function we will substitute with a flower that has a similar color and price point.
Acceptable Subs: There isn't really anything like Pampas Grass, so if it's off crop we'll find another greenery that will work with your overall color palette!
