“Be patient with yourself! If something doesn't look right, give yourself the time to figure it out. Make sure you carve out enough time to make your flowers look how you want!”

What was your favorite part about DIYing?
I loved being able to customize everything! Looking at our florals and knowing how much love went into them felt so special to me. I'll forever cherish the memories that the flowers hold!
Why did you choose to DIY your flowers?
Honestly, I went the DIY route because I was on a budget. I decided to go with Flower Moxie because of their amazing packages and all of the wonderful help they provide along the way!
Who did you have help from?
I had help from my wonderful bridesmaids and a few incredible family members! My mom helped me unbox all of the flowers upon arrival. My bridesmaids each made their bouquets and they all worked on mine as well. My bridesmaids also spent the day before the wedding assembling the bud vases!
Was it a destination wedding?
Nope!
Where did you get married and why did you choose this location?
We got married at Bad Seed Cider in Highland, NY. I knew from the moment we got engaged that I wanted to get married there... so much so that I made my husband a PowerPoint presentation detailing why it was the perfect venue! Bad Seed is such a fun place for a wedding that is centered around fun, which is exactly what we wanted. Who doesn't want to get married in an apple orchard followed by a reception in the taproom!?
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Seeing Max! All morning I kept saying that I couldn't wait to see Max... whenever I was asked how I felt I just kept saying that I wanted to see Max! Once we did our first look, I felt like I could handle anything. It was amazing!
In hindsight, is there anything you would have done differently?
Besides standing closer together during the ceremony... nope! Everything was perfect!
Tips for future DIYers?
Be patient with yourself! If something doesn't look right, give yourself the time to figure it out. Make sure you carve out enough time to make your flowers look how you want!
How did you add personalized touches to your day?
We sat a chair out for my father who passed away in 2020 with a boutonniere , his favorite football team's hat, and a picture of us when I was a child. In my bouquet, I had a charm that was engraved with "I love you" in his handwriting! He also loooooved Jägermeister, so you'll see that we had a lot of that as well :)
Which part of your wedding are you most proud of?
The decor! I DIY'd all of the decor with help from family and I am incredibly happy with how it all turned out! I also love looking at our pictures and seeing how much fun everyone had – that was the ultimate goal!
