Flower care:
- Give the stems a fresh cut, and hydrate in cool water.
- Store in a bucket by itself, and change the water daily.
- Separate branching stems for ease of design. Gently reflex closed petals.
The Good: Variation in bloom size and color. Often has many closed buds that are great for texture. Very hardy and long lasting, even for wearables. Adds height without bulk.
The Bad: Some people do not like tight lime green buds. White blooms can bruise if handled roughly.
Larkspur are versatile, and they can be used as a filler or accent flower. Based on our design suggestions, here are our recommended quantities:
- Bridal Bouquet: 5-7 stems
- Maids: 3-5 stems
- Bouts: 1 floret
- Corsages: 1-2 florets
- Centerpieces: 7-10 stems
- Large Arrangements: 3-4 bunches
