We used our Classic Plastic Compote (spray painted with gold to give it a matte appearance) and Small Mint Julep Cups (also sprayed to minimize the shiny finish) in these designs.
You do not need to spray paint your vases but some of our brides do so simply to match a personal taste or preference. It's your DIY experience and you can do whatever you love!
Designer Tips for This Collection
Blue and Mustard Flowers
So let's talk about this color palette. It's on of our favorites and such a beautiful, modern look. Five years ago, we couldn't have given away a mustard-colored rose. Now they're one of the most in-demand flowers on the market. And as anyone who's ever suffered through an economics class (sorry, Professor Starford!) knows, higher demand can mean lower supply. Golden Mustard roses are not always available, especially when the demand spikes in the fall and winter months, so we want to make sure you're well prepared to weather any kind of substitution and still achieve your vision.
We love using Honeycomb Design Master layered over Shimmer Roses to get a similar golden, blushy vibe. Actually we love Honeycomb layered on all kinds of florals and greenery! It's a great color to have on hand when you're going for this kind of vibe.
Blue is another color that can be tricky, as there just aren't that many blue flowers that naturally exist in nature. This is where our friend Design Master comes in again. Having a can on-hand when your color palette is tricky is HIGHLY recommended so that you can achieve your desired look. Will you definitely have to use it? Nope. Is it a great idea to have on hand just in case? Absolutely.
We offer a variety of colors and show how they look sprayed on both white carnations as well as darker greenery. Speaking of, why limit yourself to blue flowers? Let your imagination run wild and have fun spraying pieces of your greenery that same blue as well! Not only will it pull in more of the blue element, but it creates visual interest in your designs!
